Darmstadt 98 has signed Benedikt Börner as its new goalkeeper. The 19-year-old comes from VfL Wolfsburg and has already gained experience in the youth league.

Who is Benedikt Börner?

Börner played in the youth department for FC Ingolstadt before moving to VfL Wolfsburg's youth department in the summer of 2020. For the U19 of the „Wolves“, the goalkeeper played twelve games in the youth league and stood between the posts in three games in the DFB-Pokal of the juniors.

Paul Fernie, the coach of Darmstadt 98, said: „We are very happy to have Benedikt, a highly talented and ambitious goalkeeper, join us. He has been active at the highest level in the youth department for the past few years and is now ready to take the step into professional football.“
