Darmstadt 98 has won the German Football-ID Championship for the sixth consecutive time, defeating Sachsen-Anhalt 4-1. The tournament was held at the Bürgerpark-Stadion in Darmstadt. The city of Darmstadt also hosted a sports and inclusion festival, which targeted regular and special schools. The German Football-ID Championship was patronized by Darmstadt's Mayor Hanno Benz and Markus Pfitzner, the President of SV Darmstadt 98. Pfitzner presented the trophy to the Hessen-Auswahl team, which was trained by Bruno Pasqualotto. The team had previously won against the Saarland selection with 5-0 and Bayern with 7-0. On Tuesday, the Hessen were 4-0 against Brandenburg and 1-0 against Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The last game of the tournament became a true top and final game on Wednesday. Due to the better goal difference, a draw would have been enough for the Sachsen-Anhalt team to win the German Championship. However, the Rüsselsheimer Lukas Piller and the three-time goal scorer Soufiane Ganouf from Hanau ensured with their goals that the Hessen-Auswahl team won the title in a sovereign manner. Ganouf, who plays for FC Alemannia Klein-Auheim, was also awarded as the top scorer of the tournament by Sascha Schnobrich, Vice President of the Hessian Football Association. The tournament was also supported by the Schlappekicker-Aktion of the Frankfurter Rundschau. So, the deputy chairman of the Schlappekicker-Aktion, Harald Stenger, moderated the opening ceremony of the tournament on Sunday at the Beachclub next to the football stadium at Böllenfalltor. In addition, the 75-year-old aid action of the FR supports the two selection teams of the HBRS this year with 4000 euros to finance travel, hotel and catering costs for all players.
